New support centre for Lewes District

This building will be refurbished and converted into a dedicated homelessness support centre.

Havens Community Hub has found itself doing what it does best. Responding rapidly to emerging unmet community needs. You may have heard that the Havens Community Hub has recently, and with the help of some fantastic donors, purchased a property in Newhaven.  This space will be renovated into a designed-for-purpose support centre called The Havens Centre.

On Monday 17th August 2026 the Havens held an incredible event to welcome community representatives into a new Support Centre space prior to its total refurbishment and renovation.

Thank you to everyone who joined, shared ideas, enjoyed coffee and cake, and helped shape the future of homelessness and housing security support in the area.

Your feedback on the renovation plans, partnership opportunities, and community priorities is already helping us refine the next stage of development. We’re excited to keep you updated as the project moves forward and we’ll be sharing more photos and information about the project very soon.

The event showed just how much passion and care Newhaven has for supporting people who need it most.
