Purpose Beyond Pixels: One Developer's Journey into Philanthropy

Dave’s company broke records with the hit video game, Fall Guys, before being acquired by Epic Games in March 2021. It was then, that he witnessed the crippling cost-of-living crisis unfolding in the UK.

Moving from virtual worlds to real-world impact, Dave began funding many struggling non-profit projects through a grant making scheme for small charities; before deciding to devote his time entirely to building Needed Foundation.

Remarking: “Following the pandemic, I saw how people were falling between the gaps at a time when local authorities were being overwhelmed by demand.”

He added, “As charities, community centres, churches and public buildings close week on week, the need for new solutions has never been more urgent.”

Needed Foundation will invest in delivering fundamental services such as food, shelter and support to disadvantaged, vulnerable and homeless people in the UK.

In memory of Karyn Bailey
1960 - 2024

With nowhere to call home, Dave’s Mum, Karyn was was offered shelter in a Catholic Convent in West London in the 1970’s. It was this act of kindness, that Karyn credited for her survival. Karyn went on to become a brilliant Primary School Teacher and raised a happy family with her husband, Stephen.

After a long illness, Karyn died in 2024. Her legacy of determination and care for others lives on through her actions. Dave now hopes to follow in his Mum’s footsteps with the formation of Needed Foundation.
